One month after this post, Travis had another surgery. It relieved a lot of his long-term suffering, but the chemo was incredibly hard on his body. Every day is a struggle, but he soldiers on.
It has been about a year since I have been active in creating a large-scale project that the public has seen, which was the Basic Rights Oregon “Bites For Rights” campaign for 2013.
Much of the last two years I have been dealing with a family illness, namely my husband’s battle with three different cancers. This doesn’t mean I have been inactive, just not public with my work as of late. It is hard to be “rah rah” about anything when your oldest, best friend and partner is dealing with the pain of the recovery from multiple surgeries and several rounds of chemotherapy.
This is now changing with the redevelopment of this website. My husband Travis currently is cancer free, and it has now freed me to actively look for employment opportunities.
Having him back just reaffirms one thing: I have not been blessed, I have been divinely favored. At least it feels that way.
I am actively looking for work in the Denver, CO, area. It is my goal to leave the Portland Metro area altogether before the end of the summer. More on that in another post, coming soon.
Love to you all. Would write more, but her majesty, Gypsy Pug, wants her kibble.
