It’s been a while since I have posted anything resembling a real review here, as I have been catching up from migrating items from my old site to current one.
But this just could not be missed. Here is a blog post from my old website, with an update:
Star Dudes: A blast from the past now available here.
Every so often I like to switch it up a little on the content to keep things fresh around the old website.
I found an article I wrote way back in 2002 when I was my college newspaper’s editor. The latest Star Wars flick had just been released, and it seemed EVERY single media outlet had a story. Except ours.
Somehow, instead of regurgitating the old “Natalie Portman is so hot in that outfit” fanboy drivel, with a little effort, I was able to put out a Star Wars story that no one else seemed to be covering at the time.
Not only was it warmly received by students, faculty and staff, it also touched on something else other than Sith Lords and Jedi Knights: internet technology, which always seems to make for a great read.
It is on the Writing/Blog page, and it is an actual newspaper sheet from the Courier, my college newspaper, called “Star Dudes” (link here). The entire thing was created in literally 15 minutes, due to deadline. Not my finest work, but not bad all things considered.
Seems that Mr. Cando is doing pretty well these days. (I dare not mention that anyone can be flat broke and struggling and still have a snazzy WordPress website, should I…?)
Please visit his site at http://www.dudestudios.com/ and check out his work, including Star Dudes, for yourself.
Love to you all.
