March Poster Download: Janis Joplin for Int’l #womensday

Before there were "women in rock", there was Janis.

Welcome back one and all.

Every month, I like to give something away. Typically, it will be an item that has been out of circulation for a while, and more often than not, it is an item that was created, never used and archived. Sometimes I just like to create something unique for all of you, simply for the joy of it.

This year for International Women's Day, I really wanted to give much more attention to the work of women who were a great influence on me. Janis Joplin, other than my own mother, tops the list. The image isn't a photograph, but a line drawing done from an original photo by Richard Avedon, who shot Janis for Vogue magazine in the spring of 1968.

It will cost about $1.50 to print on tabloid size paper at your local copy center. Share and enjoy, and remember that the accomplishments and the struggles they continue to face daily need our attention more  than just one day a year.

Find it on the freebies page here.

Love to you all.
